Marine biotoxins are natural metabolites produced by microalgae, which may concentrate in different organisms through the food web. Furthermore, harmful algal blooms (HABs) are naturally occurring events that are globally increasing in the last years and may lead to human poisoning due to the ingestion of seafood contaminated by phycotoxins.
In this webinar, we will provide an overview on the bioaccumulation processes of marine and fresh water toxins focusing on some specific case studies: ciguatoxins, paralytic shellfish toxins, tetrodotoxin, microcystin and cylindrospermopsin. Helping laboratories obtain a general vision of current status.
