The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities has renewed Cifga's Innovative SME seal, a distinction that values the innovative capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises and favours their identification, as well as the establishment of public policies that contribute to their growth and sustainability.

Through this recognition, Cifga continues to appear in the public register of innovative SMEs and will be able to use the seal for the next three years. In this way, the laboratory, a producer of certified reference materials for analysis and research, accredits its innovative track record in recent years through its participation in R&D projects.

Cifga cooperates in various innovation and development projects, its own or in collaboration with other private or public entities, always aimed at improving food safety, protecting public health and advancing scientific knowledge.

The following are some of the projects in which Cifga participates or has participated:

- CRONIC-DSP, in which they are investigating to assess the effects of diarrhoeal marine toxins (DSP) after continuous ingestion and their neurological implications.

AGRITOX, a completed project focused on the prevention and mitigation of mycotoxin contamination in food and feed caused by climate change.

TOXICROP, responsible for monitoring, risk assessment and innovative remediation proposals for cyanotoxins in irrigation water.

Eva Cagide, R&D Coordinator, assures that "we are very proud to have renewed this distinction that gives prestige and publicly supports our commitment to scientific and technological development as tools for the improvement and development of new products or services".
