CIFGA investigated the toxins production of several Gambierdiscus and Fukuyoa strains, sharing samples, also with partners NUIG and USC. 2 compounds, gambierone and 44-methyl-gambierone were identified as relevant metabolites, and structural NMR experiments were carried out to deeply characterize them.
